I used TB3 and clamped it with bike tire inner tubes. Not the best glue for what I'm doing with it, but I'm hoping I'll have enough contact surface to hold. Once I clean it up if it doesn't look good I'll take it apart and get some good epoxy. Right now it looks like it's good a good enough glue line that with some decorative wrapping Itll hold up fine. I plan to cover the sinew with carp skin and will thread wrap the seam. So might as well make the thread pull triple duty. Hold/cover the sinew skin edge, hold the lever together, and be decorative.

That should hold up just fine.   After you clean it up I'm sure it will look great!

Kyle, how long are those wedges and are they going to extend past the levers? Should look good finished up.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

They're going to be clipped even with the levers end I stopped the cut at the start of where the lever fades o the working limb. I think the levers are about 10", without taking a tape to them. There's going to be quite a bit of the wedges left after cutting them flush.

If that's a stave you shouldn't see any runout as it appears.  That will be a challenging stave for an elbow b?  What are the stats on the stave...how wide is it?

Currently 35mm at centre tapering to 25mm at the tips for width, constant 22mm depth. This is the only run out, grain pretty straight for remaining length of the stave. Couple of small knots to keep things interesting but nothing else as gnarly as the ones in the photo.  Stave had 4" deflex but responds really well to heat as its holly and is nearly straight, one more heat session should see it ready to profile properly. Target weight is over 40 less than 50 at 28  draw

If that's a stave and the lower pic shows the back of the bow then there shouldn'the be a runout.  Sometimes pictures are hard to get a read on.

Not the whole stave, the photo only shows the 6 inches at one end where there is a pair of knots cutting diagonally from the belly and through the side, the rest of the stave is good except for an inch long shake I need to cut off at the other end

Stuck -  are we looking at the side of the stave in the pics?  I am confused? ???  If it is the side, what are the pencil markings?

 Stuck
I've seen a lot of wood in my day...Not to sound like a jerk, but I don't think you are accurately following the grain...If it's the last 6", make a bow...

I'm like Don cut that last 6" off and make a 62" bow.

Nice gut...full that freezer up....or gorge yourself on crappies!!  I'll message you with string length later.   I'm in no big hurry.

I think you could get rid of those last 6" too but that also depends on the wood I'm sure.  I have never worked with holly so I'm not much help in knowing the characteristics of that particular wood.
