Tim sorry about the breakage but that plan C is pretty sweet.

David Ewing what poundage did you end up with? If it's close Flipping the tips might gain you the  poundage you need.

Ajooter can't wait to see those pics

Hey David, you can also gain some weight by heat treating the belly of the bow.  Shortening the limbs can also gain weight, depending on your build specs.  So your bow may be salvageable after all.  I am a relative beginner myself and have used all three methods to fix bow mistakes... flip the tips, shorten the limbs, heat treat the belly.

Bought a scale... Turns out I suck at guessing weight. Its low enough I can't save it. Nothing I could really do about it though, I had to get the tiller some-what right. I'll finish it and give it to a kid or something.

Starting another one now... I actually have some idea of what I'm doing now. Should turn out a lot better.

David - that is not uncommon for the first few bows you build - lots of guys end up under weight when they first start out.  My first 3 or 4 were all under!  I learned from people on the site to always pull to (or close to) your intended weight during the tillering process (as long as things look good).  If you do that you know you will make the weight.  The scale will help you do that.

Tim - bummer on the break.  Plan C looks good.
Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch

Dang it! that's too bad Tim but I agree. Plan C is sweet.

Hey David, How far under weight are you on it?

Here's an updated list on who I need to see progress reports and full draw pictures from before they will receive a bow:

jandersson,  Kid Bow,  Ryan C,  Ranasp,  Stuckinthemud,

Here's the list of who may ship anytime:

ajooter,  Dakota Kid,   tatoo dave,  Otter

Let me know if you have any questions.

List of bows already received by recipient:

CabinetBowGuy,  Dakota Kid,  Drewster,  DuBois,  Gutshot,  halfeye,  Loope,  Mo_coon-catcher,  Mwosborn,  PlanB,  Sidmand,  StixnStones,  Swampman,  Turtle

We are working hand in hand with a few individuals and have extended the deadline in order to give them some more time to complete their project.

Drewster, i love that hickory stik. Simple and sweet. David, looks purty good. I agree with others a good heat treatin and some flipped tips would bring that weight up some. Timothy , plan c looks real cool, that F/D is beautiful.

It was pulling 20 lbs just a few inches under full draw.
I know, that's bad. Lol

Yes there's no getting your weight up that much. Might should get those arms calibrated. You are about 30lbs off. LOL. Do you have any of that iron wood half eye sent you left. If so that's your best bet on getting another bow built in time. No chasing that back ring on that stuff.

Fred, I too have a bow that's ready to ship.

David, it's tough guessing weight. I used too have a tillering stick with a base on it that I could set on a normal scale to measure that way. Not the best, but it worked better than guessing. Plan C looks good.

Dave, I'll correct my list. I don't remember seeing a full draw pic of your bow.   >:D

David, disregard my comments on the PM I sent you. I thought you were using black locust and not HHB.
