This piece of Osage was my plan C but I didn't think it was going to make a bow for my guys stars but when I got to looking at it it was pretty much ready for full brace. When I braced it I just had to scrap its few times and it turns out it's going to be closer to his stats than the other Osage I was going to send.  I'm glad I didn't send it yet because it's really nice. I finished putting the belly skin on last night. Going to let it dry a few days and make sure the tiller is good and pretty it up.

I'm wondering if my guy should let the bow sit for a day or two before shooting it.  It was crazy humid here when I packaged her up.  What do u guys think?

Depends how breathable the packaging is  - card and paper I would think the bow would be OK; bubble-wrap might be a different matter

It's in a pic tube wrapped in bubble wrap.....so maybe he should give it a day or two.

Hows it looking now?  Weight is getting marginal but not heat treated yet - so should be there or there about.  Picture is at 22" draw. Wonder if the tips are still a little stiff?

Agreed....was this a stiff handled or bendy bow?

Well, I can make a few more adjustments if need be, as I ended a little over weight (I think 58# @ 29"), but here's how the bow stands now (I think if anything, that 1st 1/3rd of the right limb is still stiff, so if I adjust anything, it will be that limb):

Braced

Bow @ 29"

Unbraced

And here are some teasers of the handle section (sanded picture followed by cleaned off and wetted with denatured alcohol):

Well, on to go shape the tips, then to make a string for her, then fling some arrows (maybe)!

Id hit the first 10-12" off the fades. They are stiff and that makes the mids work too hard. Id say your going to need about 3-5# of weigh to correct that. Left alone and it will pull reflex out as time passes.
