Yes Leon...TV glass works a lot like obsidian & it`s available everywhere usually for free.. look beside the street as you go to work or wherever & you`ll see tv`s set on the curb... 1/2"thick or more ... kinda hard to thin sometimes  but it still wworks a lot better than Johnstone...thats some crappy stuff to play with...lo

^^ alright, cool.

also, Lobo, your points arrived to my place safe and sound (nice packaging).

now i have a tv glass point too 8)

nice work on the burlington/keokuk? and glass point too. what is that glass from?

i'm planning to put them in a case that will only house 'traded' points and display them on one of my walls.

thanks, man!

The triangle point on the left is a form of obsidian that I`ve never seen before, don`t know for sure who sent it to me in a package of rock to try out but it shows a kinda purple  when backlit... Middle preform/blade is keokuck , & the glass is from a broken display case, gotta save the "brokes" if possible... repointing , rebasing, or repurposing all work in their own ways...   Hope you like `em.

Got my points from lobo today as well! Gotta admit, I really really like the white one style and flavor of stone but the tiny layers in that obsidian are pretty darn neat. I'll have to find some handle material. What sort of rock is the silver though? A form of dacite or some super silver sheen obsidian?

i took it out in the sun and saw what you were referring to. it must be a type of rainbow obsidian, just with very subtle purples.

Tracker...  Not sure what the silver stone is for sure, I`ve been gifted several boxes of misc. stone & obsidian over the last few years that I`d set aside til I thought I`d be able to do them justice instead of turning them into real  purty gravel...  I take some out from time to time just to see if I`m good enough yet...  Sometimes I get lucky & find something nice hiding inside.  This was 1 of those except for the fact that all I really did there was shaping a small spall or larger thinning flake.  The fact that you seem to like it means I musta done something right...
leOn the material   on your triangle was from the same box as Trackers... now if I could remember who might have sent me that box of obsidian??  I took the return labels off the boxes to save in my "net friends" file... guess I shoulda written the name on the box for future reference huh?  See,I try to learn something new everyday, that`s my lesson for this week....  Memory falters, magic markers on cardboard won`t forget...

Looks like we are making good progress!  Now that I'm back from the TN Classic I'll be getting my points all put together and start to get them out.

We are about 2 weeks away from calling it, so let's make it all start to happen!

Looking good, everyone!
