Yeah, viburnum checks easily if stripped too soon.

Did the Native Americans think about all this that much or just do it?

The finishing touches are going on mine today and tomorrow. I went and used oil paint for the cresting, and it took a bit to dry before I can fletch.

Where are my manners? What would Mama say?

Same as the other fellas, thanks for taking the reins Rob. It was just as fun as it was last year.  :D

Thanks OO, I really appreciate it.

These pics are of the 2 arrows I received from Cabinetbowguy.  The arrow are much nicer in person, and I can say absolutely, that they fly just fine.

The pics are mixed up a little - - One arrow is a tapered (toward the nock only) hickory shaft, with that typical war arrow head (whats that called? drawing a blank -  got it - bodkin), tied on turkey feathers and nice little (4 color) cresting going on.  Also the nock is reinforced by what looks like horn.

The other arrow shaft is the thinnest cane shaft I have ever shot.  I was worried it would not hold up, but it did.  Carved bone head and two fletch with goose feathers.  I love the shape of these feathers.  Dont know if you can see it, but these feathers are also tied on with very fine thread of some kind - and lots of glue - no issue with feather movement other than due to the fragility of the set up.  Both arrows are first class jobs.

I hope my guy is as pleased with what I sent to him as I am with what I got.  Since they have been shot a few times, they can now take a place of honor with my other show piece arrows.

Thank you cabinetbowguy!!!!!  When you are ready, you can send over the rest of the dozen . . . .
