First Hazelnut Bow Finished

After seeing Gordon's fantastic Hazelnut build-along I was inspired to print off his directions and see what I cold do.
It is also convenient to have him live close so he could give me a few pointers and double-check the tiller (asymetrical limbs really mess with my eyes).  The bow was built from a nice hazelnut stave I cut last summer.  It was heat treated twice, silk backed with diamond back skins, and sealed with 10 coats of true-oil.  It is 60# at 28" and is my second fully completed bow.  It was invaluable to have Gordons step-by-step instructions from the build-along.  I tried many new thing on this bow and I'm pleased with how it turned out.  I will post full draw pics when I have someone to take them.

She's a beauty, Bryan. Both the bow and little one! 8)   Talk about inspiration! Is the stave you sent from the same time frame and batch of Hazelnut? Now I have 2 examples to work towards. After a long period of not working on bows I have just about finished a HHB  bow and hopefully will start on your stave soon.   Pat

Oh wow Bryan, that bow sure turned out nice. You taking it turkey hunting this year? I may have to tag along just to record the auspicious event! ;D

Thank you all for the nice comments.

PatB- yes all of my hazelnut was from the same orchard/trip.  Same batch as Gordon's also. I was fortunate to get a nice haul from a generous land owner.
Gordon- Of course you can chase turkeys with me this spring.  I swear, there are plenty of them on the property!!!

yep, came out very nice.  question on the tips: did you cut the stringnock into the back or are there overlays (i couldn't detect any)
