I just wanted to post this for Hunterbob.
He sent me this awesome Hop Horn Beam bow as a gift in the Christmas trade, I love the bow, I have been shooting it for a few weeks now and plan to hunt with it next fall.
Here are the stats...
HHB that Bob harvested himself in the spring on his property in Ohio, he seasoned it for two years, took it down to bow dimensions and let it sit for another 5 months.
It's his first reflex/deflex design, it's 65" tip to tip. At 26" it pulls about 60lbs., not sure of the poundage, Bob tillered it by eye without a scale.
Tip over lays are walnut, tiger wood and blood wood.
The finish is,1 coat of boiled wild black berries, 1 coat of oak stain,1 coat of cherry stain, 1 coat of walnut stain and 7 coats of Tru Oil.
It has a red leather grip and a D97 string.
I would like to enter this bow for Hunterbob in the BOM contest.
