Hackberry painted lady
« on: March 27, 2017, 06:25:06 pm »
I built this bow from a hackberry stave i got from Stixnstones,  it was a nice stave with very few problems as in, it was pretty dang straight😉 I built this for a friend of ours that does a lot of black powder rendezvous,  last year she wanted some help shooting and the osage bow she had was a pos, poor tiller no string alignment,  an art sinew string that is prolly still stretching. Anyway i will surprise her with this one , 65" ttt and 42#@28" but she will only pull maybe 25-26". I thought the paint job fit in nicely with the rendezvous scene, kind of a west coast look, really smooth to shoot and hits with a good thump for a lower weight bow, hope ya like her, bub

Looks mighty fine all around, the paint job in particular. The little bit I have worked with hackberry has left me wanting more.

And a pretty painted lady to Bubby. That hackberry belly looks like ash.

Wow really nice looking hackberry.....hackberry is getting to be a well respected bow wood around the guys I've been hanging out with.  There were three or four hackberry bows at Moon Tree.
Good job Bub, she gota love that paint job....
