Snake Belly
« on: May 25, 2017, 01:59:34 pm »
Hello men. Im here from the flintknapping channel and thought it would be nice to post my latest bow.
This is a bois D arc 63" TTT 40# @26". One layer of sinew covered with a rattle snake belly. The transition is black silk string. This is my first belly bow and it turned out rather well. Tip over lays are paduka, Black leather handle w/ rest insert. FF Flemish twist string. Hope you enjoy the view.

Great job. What really caught my eye is the way the leather conforms to the rest :D

Very nice! The belly scales sure do make a nice backing.  8)

Great looking bow! I've never seen the belly used before, it's a good and original look. That's may allow for two backing pieces per snake if skinned right.

That one has a really nice look to it. Everything goes together and the bend looks sweet. Nice work sir!

Thank you men for the look and kind words. I know that I don't post on here very much and I miss my time on line. But my thinking is that if I'm online then I could be working on a bow. Or a point. The knowledge and help here is beyond compare. Always sending people to this sight for info. There is no beret place.
