I can self relate to your spiner as mine is the same construction but with an orbital caliper used by machinists.It is sweet I think as it can zero out for every shaft too.That bend is almost a 50# pound bend...around 48#really.

Sometimes trying to,make a perfectly straight shaft out of counteringly kinked shafts every 4 to 5 inches is frustrating by hand so here's my solution for that on top of the wood stove.A 1/4" thick pad of steel with a padded handle.The shaft is rolled back and forth with a lot of pressure.
