Hackberry Flat bow
« on: September 30, 2018, 10:08:03 pm »
Hello everyone. I gave a sneak peek of this bow a month ago. I have been using it as a fill in bow while working on other customer bows. It is a 66" hackberry bow. It is backed with silk and i painted it with designs from my tribe the Mikmaq. I did the painting designs with acrylic paint and finished with 8 coats of truoil. The bow is 66" 50#@28". It draws super smooth and is a blast to shoot. The bow itself is so light it feels like it will float out of your hand.

That's beautiful. Hackberry definitely makes a great bow.  8)

Good looking bow, nice paint job. Accurate description on how hackberry feels too.

Can't help, looking several times at your fd pic I find the bow not balanced. Maybe it is the photo angle (which is not absolutely square, I think).
The artwork looks great!

Simson, I added some more photos of the bow being drawn. there is a wicked dog leg bend at the end of top limb and it is wavy from back to belly in the same spot. I see what you mean in the pic of full draw. It looks that way from angle and the one funky spot in the top limb. I modified post and added pictures on the tree.

Lovely paint job.

I see! And you've done great!
For the fd pics: IMO we should do always pics from the left and the right side, way more clarification
