My new bow
« on: April 06, 2008, 12:06:52 pm »
Here is my new bow.

It is red oak board.  it pulls in the upper 50s @ 28".  it screams an arrow. i mean it really fast.
it is 2" wide at midlimb and the last 15" taper to 3/8" at the nocks.  it is 66" ntn

it is backed with linen and painted black. i stained it dark walnut.  it is finished with deft.

i love this bow.
sorry iam a terrible picture taker the pictures dont do it justice

Looks like a great bow David. I hope you will excuse me being a little critical. The top limb appears to be bending just a little more right at midlimb.  It appears that the top limb has taken a little more set than the bottom.  I think it is because of the extra bend at midlimb. I'm not trying to knock your bow because it is really good, but when a few guys started pointing out little things on my bows it really helped me improve.   Justin

The tiller is real close to perfect.  I would say that the bottom limb is perfect.  You should use it as  a reference on your next bow.  Justin

nice bow you got there.  dont fear those staves, you'll do just fine. once you start on staves you'll be hooked on them- Ryan
