Thanks everyone i had a lot of fun making this. I agree withd eiselcheese as it's a little light as a full blown chopper but it will do the job. But i made this for throwing, throwing hawksis soon much fun!!!

What finish, if any, do you use on the handle?  I am thinking about beeswax/ flax oil, or TruOil.

Yes, I have several...oh wait, you mean....yeah, I do have several!   ::)

And bubbleicious is right, throwing tomahawk is fun.  It doesn't require any great strength, so kids are just as competitive as adults. It takes no powder/patch/ball, requires no great effort to clean up. You can do it alone or with friends. It can be done for bragging rights or for quarters thrown in a hat. Just turn a stump on end and clear the way.
