ABO paddlish bow

Here's an Ash-Backed Osage bow I made with some "paddlish" inspiration. The stave I had was just right for that type of design. Some of you may think at FD she looks like she could bend a bit more in the outer limbs, but given that that's where the reflex begins, I decided to leave her as she was. She's smooth drawin' and shootin' for such a short bow.

There's cork on the front and back of the handle for a more comfy grip, which I believe is an idea that comes from Wizard Goat. Thank you sir.  :)

Some really nice subtle features, like the recurves, narrow tips, tiller and craftmanship. Beautiful bow.

Very nice. I've often thought that I should make a paddle bow and try to get one of the native artists to do some west coast art on it. I haven't stumbled on the right stave yet and I would probably have to give him the bow. That would be OK though as long as I got some pictures.

Ash on OO ... didn't know that ash is better in tension...

I say go for it DC. Sounds like a great way to meet new people and try out a different design.  :)

Thanks B2W. Ash makes a great backing, especially if it's air-dried. Not sure it's better than the osage in tension, but the glued-in reflex sure does hold the profile nicely.  :OK
