Lehigh style barn gun

Mike Yancey:

I got the tang inlet and ready for the dovetails in the barrel for the pins.

Mike Yancey:

Im building two 40's in the same style at the same time. One is a pre carve the other from scratch. This is the tang that I just inlet this morning in the pre carve rifle. I like the fit and have barrel lugs marked out and ready to dovetail in the barrel. I like the short scratch's feel right now but they will both make great rifles. There is just something about the way that the little 36'' barrel one points and balances.

Mike Yancey:

Got the lock plate in my 40.

Also did some stock work on my scratch build for my Son's Christmas rifle.

Mike Yancey:

Coming together. One of these will most likely be going to New Mexico with me in a few weeks to Mountain Lion hunt.
My left shoulder is killing me and I cant lift or pull a bow over half draw. Have an appointment with a surgeon in December to see what needs to be done.

WhistlingBadger:
That's excellent looking work!  Hope you can get your shoulder squared away.
