The late Mike Ameling was a blacksmith and living history enthusiast who was famous for his fire steels and simple knives. He also made simple trade points once in a while. I had some till some hooligan stole them from my display at an event that I used to demonstrate primitive archery at.  :(

Thanks, like most things I make, I work on it until I can't tear it up. I figured if I couldn't break these doing ridiculous things no one else had a chance. I usually only make a half dozen when I loose the last half dozen. It does take time to get them right but I wouldn't hesitate to use them on any sort of game. Even the kind that can fight back.

I need to get some new shafts and I will mount a few up and post pictures. As it is hunting season is a long ways away so I had not given much thought to it honestly.
