never fletched any arrows that way before ill have to give that a try too!

My thinking on it is the feather doesn’t protrude out past the shaft and rub the bow on release affecting flight as much.  I don’t spine match arrows perfectly.  I just make arrows and shoot them with my bows.

I guess the natural shape of the feather gives the arrows spin.  Sometimes I’ll orient the nock end of the feather perpendicular with the nock and give the front of the feather a 1/4 turn so the leading edge is in line with the nock.  I get great stabilization of my arrows.
