Little skinner
« on: August 17, 2021, 12:40:43 pm »
Made this little skinner for a very good friend of mine. 1084 steel, curly maple handle. Since the blade is so small I felt pretty good about getting it quite thin before hardening and that bit me a little bit as there was a couple places with scale too deep to buff out and he wanted it to be a mirror, but it is what it is and pretty clean for my work.

Oh, that would be handy to have at hand in camp! From feathersticking to skinning and quartering a deer to prepping meals. THAT is a useful tool!

And you know what, I’ll learn how to forge just to get it… someday.   (lol)

Very nice!  As JW indicated, a small knife is very handy for many more uses than a big one!  Those could be excellent trade bait!
