Black Locust Penobscot inspired Double Bow
« on: August 29, 2021, 09:40:08 am »
The bow I've finished a couple months ago. It's made from the single black locust stave. The main bow is 56" long, shorter is around 27" tip to tip. The bow draws 40-45lbs at 26". Bowstrings are made from flax twine.
I used hide glue and flax twine wrapping to join bows. On arrow pass I burned moon and sun. The bow name is "Thunder". It shoots sweet and takes almost no set at all. Both bows were heat treated.

You can see how the bow was built here:

All the best guys!

The Penobscot bow is probably my least favorite bow but you have done a fine job on this one.  :OK   How does it shoot?

Well that’s cool!  I’d like to shoot that bow.
