Been there as well, after battling cancer for 14 months my wife went in for one more check up as she grew weaker. When I got the bad news from her oncologist the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life was to go up to her hospital room tell her that the DRs had done all that they could do and the end was near. That was 8 years ago and I still teared while up typing this.
My heart goes out to you, I know what you are facing.
