I had a similar situation.
Some one close reminded me that "we are flesh and blood, not made of iron."
These things are hard, and no one whose has not gone through it know how hard.

Just kind of numb right now. We're looking at 7cm mass on an 11cm liver, plus the possibility metastasis on her spine.
Tomorrow we see the cancer doctor and she's a firecracker so that gives me a little hope. She told my wife over the phone to make the biopsy appointment, then call her back and she'd personally see to it that it gets moved sooner.
I'm trying to be optimistic on the outside for the sake of everyone else, but inside I can't help being pretty pessimistic.
