How predictable are Turkeys?

<< < (2/2)

Pappy:
To me they are kind of like squirrel hunting, you go out on what you think is the prefect day and prefect place and seen nothing, then you go out on a bad day in a place you don't think much will happen and they are ever where, the key is spending time in the woods, when all else fails time in the wood will win. Be patient and when you think you have set long enough give it another hour, it will pay off if you stay with it. Good luck and as Brad said a good place to start is where you have been seeing them, they may not be there every day but they will for sure be back at some point.  ;) I also like to hunt places in the morning where i see them in very late afternoon, that tells me they will be roosting soon and will be close by come daylight. :)

yes that is Key,, if you think you sat long enough,, give it one more hour, it will pay off, when I was younger and more patient,, I killed lots of turkeys, just sitting and being still,, and after I stopped calling,, a gobbler would show up all strutting,, but never making a sound,, I would just hear him strut,, and there he was,, sneaking in all silent,,,,if I had left,, would have never seen him,,
