Is it totally out of my ability to make a pattern welded knife? I can forge weld pretty successfully but I haven’t done many big or complicated welds. What would I need to do to work towered being able to make a pattern welded knife?

I made a chef's with only seven layers it had a really nice pattern. If you can forge weld give it a try. If you want send me a PM I'll text you a picture of the knife.

Thanks Rob. I was doing some research and cable Damascus seems pretty easy. I’m wondering what cable to use and where to fine it.

I've never tried cable but it's on my list to try. I've used 1095 and 15N20. The picture of the knife I texted you last night was 1084 and 15N20.
