This Bow is made of yew billets left over from an inteneded osage/yew trade with Will B...the trade failed after we found out his shipping costs were almost 300% of mine. Would have been an unfair trade  :)
Glad I didnt sent these billets anyways - dunno if he would have been happy with all the hidden flaws. The little bump toplimbs turned out to be real biggie after removing bark and sapwood. Also 2 drying checks trough all sap a few inches;...My guess was they were superficial....they're filled with 2k and for the looks its backed with rawhide. Nowadays I'm far more careful at seasoning yew than back in the days 😇 Any damage of the bark should be sealed to protect the sap from drying out. But basically a fine shooter  :)

Sweet bow Simk. I really like how you did the rawhide backing to. It almost looks like sturgeon.

Beautiful bow with just the right amount of character.
