Will B:
Very cool character-filled bow there for sure, Simon. I’m sorry our trade didn’t work out.  You did a far nicer job with those yew billets than I would have. I’m curious how you got your rawhide to look that way. I absolutely love that finish!  Also, what did you use for your tip overlays?

I believe the snakey Osage stave I intended to send you In the trade I made into a 67” recurve backed with prairie rattlesnake skins. I’ve attached a couple photos.

simk:
Thanx guys. I also like this faux sturgeon finish  :) the rawhide was almost transparent,...the checks in the sap were still visible. I then stained it with black artist ink and then applied some acrylic paint with brush and sieve - we probably all know very well this method from kindergarden times 😅 the tips are made from deer antler. Your bow seemed to turn out well, Will B but deserved better pics 👍
Miss your bows on here BJ, hope you'll find time presenting another.

JW_Halverson:
Like everyone else responding, I am fascinated with the faux sturgeon look and I intend to file away that idea for later!

The bow turned out great, with enough character to prove this isn't just something knocked out on the quick. Yup, this is a craftsman's work through and through.

M2A:
Great looking work. Too bad you guys could not make the trade but I get it with the price of shipping. You both ended up with with a good looking piece of work in the end anyways :)
Mike

Very nice bows. Maybe it was the better choice not to trade >:D. Despite, this shipping cost are unbelievable!
