ash stave profile

bluejack, Mad Max is right on with his dimensions. I made a lot of ash bows when I lived in Maine (before the emerald ash borer helped create diversity!). I made pyramid design only and always with a 2-1/2" width at the fade. Even at that width most of my bows were in the mid 40s draw weight.

bluejack, those dimensions sound good.
I've used lots of different bow woods. Ash is the only one that chrysalled on me... almost always. Once I just looked at an ash stave and it chrysalled on me. :)
