New bow
« on: August 05, 2025, 03:10:40 pm »
David wow did I ask for this bow? I sometimes say I would like to have one of those when I see a post on a new bow. This is way cool! I test flight bows tomorrow here at home . Not sure on what class to enter but I will find out . If it competes I’ll shoot it assuming I make the flight shoot this year. Again thanks for the beautiful bow. Arvin

I don’t know exactly how the wrap works but after a few times I’ll figure it out. I’m sure it needs to be plenty to hold the handle section tight. Really a cool bow!

That’s really cool Arvin.

There’s been some fine bowyers from Canada that I have learned to lot from. Dave’s one of them. And always building, experimenting and sharing.

I’m sorry to say I’ve been so busy and other priorities. That I haven’t made any shavings since I visited you in your bow shop.

Thank bjorgg.  Very kind.  It was a pleasure to give this bow to Arvin.  He has been very generous with me over the years.  I was speaking with him earlier today and he flight tested it and it appears to have done well.  I’m glad of that.

This bow has lots of potential in flight!! I tested it with broadhead flight arrows. Here are the results against a couple of my broadhead bows.

Thanks Del.  Ya it’s basically a five piece bamboo self bow if that makes sense.  The limbs are single piece bamboo slat with a lever on each limb wrapped with cordage.  The handle section is hickory.  This is a folding bow at the handle on the bottom limb.
