Arrows, arrows arrows.  ;D  Got the tips put on. The center of mass is about 1/2" behind center on the few that I've measured which is quite similar to the turkish arrow dimensions that I approximately followed. Will get pushed back a bit more once I add the fletching. I think when I work on the doug fir shafts that I'll move the center for the barrel taper at least 1/2" forward. Coming along though. They need a lot of straightening. Interesting how some are very soft compared to others but all from the same board. 

If you see me at the classic next week I'll bring this stuff along to work on.  (-S

are you concerned that the vanes will move the balance point too far aft?

Maybe I missed it, but what are those tips made from?

Thanks Willie. I am worried but I’ve read that the balance point can be behind center a bit since the fletchings add some drag to keep it going straight. I’ll have to shoot them to see how they behave. These are for practice to get the hang of this arrow style. The tips are small pieces of horn.
