A little carp skin comparison

<< < (2/3) > >>

Muskyman:
I’m assuming that’s more than one fish skin per limb?  Like both but, think I like the regular carp myself.

Mo_coon-catcher:
For full limb coverage it would take a midlimb splice with 2 skins. But on these bows it’s just one skin per limb. The common carp was around 12# and the grass carp
About 15#

Hamish:
Wow, Both look really good and would make great camo too.

WhistlingBadger:
Nice.  You make me look forward to getting out and whacking a few carp.  I've been wanting to make a primitive fishing bow, as my current fishing bow is fib**gla**.  I don't think hickory would stand up well to the constant moisture of bow fishing.  But an Osage wrapped in those oily carp skins might be just the thing.

bjrogg:
Thanks for the comparison Kyle. I agree they both look nice. Looking at pictures I probably prefer the grass. Actually from pictures it almost looks like feathers. Reminds me of Dbar and his feather backed bows.
