Hey everyone , thanks for letting me join the group I started my selfbow journey 4 years ago kinda took a few breaks in those 4 years with family stuff going on I’m still learning and I appreciate everyone sharing knowledge, I WANT TO BUY SOME OSAGE JUST ONE STAVE IVE NOT GOT MY HANDS ON ANY YET DONT KNOW WHERE TO BUY IT

Welcome aboard,I think you will enjoy it here, don't know what to tell you on Osage except if you don't find any soon, I see you are from TN. or at least that's in your name  :), come to the TN. Classic 1st of May and you will find plenty to trade for our by. Look forward to seeing some of your work. :)

Thanks pappy! With the work I do we make the most money in spring and summer I’ve been wanting to come to the tn classic for 4 years and I asked this year and work said I probably won’t be able to have off for it… I may just come anyway

There are a lot of osage staves on eBay and Etsy, most are green having been cut a few months ago but if you know what to look for there are some pretty good deals at times.

Look for one with end grain like these, you don't want any like the outer grain of the bigger piece, the thinner the early wood rings the better.

I second getting to a primitive meet. I am pretty frugal, but I spend most of my budget at meets. Nice to hold the stuff in your hands and you can save a bunch on shipping.
