Is anyone interested in a PITH for 2026?

Im interested but Ive never knapped before.  I have some tools on order and some mahogany obsidian to break.  I also found this in my yard.  Does it looks like knappable chert?

We can keep it up for a bit longer. Maybe other will join in. Then I will draw names if that’s ok w/ everyone else

Doug from looking on my phone, it looks kinda promising. I would suggest watching some YouTube videos. Then find a hammer stone and try taking a flake. It’s very helpful if you can find a free supply of chert. Also very rewarding knowing you used a local resource.

I agree. Let’s keep it open for a while longer. Would like to see a few more join in.

I can remember a time 40 knappers would join in.   Let’s close it on April 18th.  I’ll count up the volunteers & draw names.  I’m in for 2 entries

Yup pretty slow now Tower. I sure miss the company.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m fine if Doug wants to enter. If he can come up with anything remotely resembling a point or tool. I’ll trade him.

That's all good by me too. I'm happy to do more than one point as well. Could someone take the time and clarify how PITH works exactly? Is it like the bow trade?

The way PITH works (Point In The Hat ). There is one entry for every point entered.
If you are in for one point your name is put in the hats once.  If you are in for two points your name is put in twice.   That means if you enter once you will receive one point from someone drawn at random.  If you enter 2 points you receive two points from 2 different knappers.
It doesn’t matter your skill level & no one judges.  We all started & had to grow in the craft. All points are welcome.Over the years I have points from knappers who were novices & are master knappers now.
Sign & date the points you receive & post them.
