Lookin good Arvin.

Seems you have some extra width but will set your tiller weight goal for the same draw weight and length as the record bow? That will give you some margin for the experiment.  It would be cool if you dont experience the usual inch or so of set you report for some of your all Osage bows, and hopefully the boo will perform in front of the chrono.

I do think glueing in the reflex with a lam will make a diffefence

Well all was going good I started tillering a bit soon or my EA40 went bad or the fades could not take the stress! I got some real thin epoxy  from Alan some time back so I reglued  it And put in in the hot box at about 160 for a couple hrs. See what happens tomorrow. Can Anybody  tell me how to bend bamboo on a 5” radius???

So much for this experiment! Well I’ve got a nice flat back so I will put boo on the back and see if the extra width will fix the set. Shame this would have made a great selfbow stave.

Arvin. Am I understanding correctly?

The boo failed on belly?

Now you are going to back the bow with boo instead?

So lesson seems to be Osage is better than boo in compression?

Sorry to see it didn't work.  I hope you figure out why it didn't.  Could re-heating it have caused a problem?  There have been so many successful bamboo belly bows with bamboo backs that you would think it could easily handle the compression of the osage.
Seems like common sense isn't very common any more...

I think it did not have enough Boo in the fade but not sure. Yes I have boo back on it now and it’s getting a cook. I think I will try it again sometime but I’m over it for now!!

I think it's a valid idea.  Sorry it didn't work this time.

I suspect you are right about the fades.

It seems like when I see horn on bellies it completely covers the fades. Interesting experiment Arvin.

I’m sure you can find a dandy bow in there yet Arvin.

In a little more familiar territory.
