Fiberglass takedown sleeve

Thanks! I've wanted to make a take-down for a while, and now I've even got a bow in the works that might work :).

Great howto - thanks!  Could you use this technique to make a takedown from scratch or is it best to tiller a self-bow and cut it in half later...?

You can do it either way.  The only problem with making one at the beginning of making the bow would be the cup for the tillering tree.  You may have to adjust it some to accommodate the thicker handle.

Ah ok thanks Madcrow - this is one im going to have to try out! i like the idea of cutting the stave first or maybe making a board bow with billets. Maybe im just too chicken to cut a finished bow in half!! :D
