-
Looks like I'm the first. Got these great arrows from Gutshot today. The Fred Flintstone arrow will hang at the entrance to my shop, the shooter will join my collection.
Thanks Paul, I really like the snake skin and point. And your daughters idea was great.
-
Here's the shooter
-
Wow gutshot, and lucky you mullet. That's pretty cool.
-
That's an amazing arrow Eddie! Very nice 😊
-
Very cool surprise Eddie! I love it.
-
Yea, guys, two years in a row to get great and different arrows. I've got to figure out where to hang my new big one. :)
-
That's hysterical! I want to see the bow that shoots that Fred flintstone arrow!
Tattoo Dave
-
Mine's on it's way...............to Canaaaaaada. :)
DBar
-
I finished fileing shoot to spine and wieght, knapped head, halvted head, made self notch, and wrapped sinew. Hopefully tomorrow paint, and maybe fletching
Bjrogg
-
Dave, I went through all of my bows and realized I had to make thicker strings.
-
I'll get a list up this weekend of who shipped & who received.
-
mine will be out tomorrow, boxed and ready to go.
-
I'm shipping to A-A-ron this afternoon after work. Should be there by Tuesday boss.
-
Glad you like the arrows Mullet. I wasn't thinking Fred flinstone on that arrow but I guess it would take one that big to take down a dinosaur.
-
Mullet is that you in the picture? I always imagined you as having an actual mullet. Nice set of arrows, if not that closely matched. . .
-
He used to have a hell of an afro! ;D
-
A few options. The one on the left is a laminated birch, with Purple heart spliced on the tip end for better weight forward design. The second is a 5 piece laminated Birch and cedar shaft, the last is a 2 piece laminated birch.
-
They all look great, any would be fine Joe. From pictures the center looks really nice. You can just send me whichever one you think you like best.
Bjrogg
-
Id pay for those pics, Pat :)
-
No need. Epic!
-
I've not seen that one but there is one with he and Cathy back in the 60s or 70s.
-
That picture reminds me of my buddy Tom. He used to think he was COOL walking around with a hair pick stuck in his Afro. lol ha ha the good old days
Bjrogg
-

Bjrogg
But Eddie is cool. And he can kick your butt too.
-
Yup I agree Eddie is cool never meet him but I can tell I'd like him. Sure hope he never feels the need to kick my butt although I'm sure it needs kicking from time to time. My wife usally takes care of that.
Bjrogg
-
Oooooo! Eddie is a BA!
-
Anybody that heats their bow with a microwave with holes in the ends has got my respect. 🤔Well maybe not anybody but certainly Eddie.
Bjrogg
-
that picture sort of looks like a wild Jim Croce the singer. Yea I had a lot of hair a long time ago but we all got to start looking our age at some point, one day I may grow up and start acting my age! NOT!
-
Thanks, Buddy. :D ;) Bet you pulled that off of Facebook after one of my Senior Black Belts posted it, huh? ::) :) That was from the mid 70's when I was competing On the National/Regional Karate Illustrated Magazine Circuit. For about eight years I was flying all over on the weekends fighting in Tournaments.
-
Cool, I didn't know that Eddie.
Bjrogg
-
Yea, that's why I have a new Hip. :D
-
Is that picture really you Eddie? If so, that's awesome. I think you should bring back the 'stash.
I straightened 3 shafts today and got 2 of them ready for sealing and fletching. I'm trying something new on the 3rd shaft. I'm curious to see how it turns out. It will be a few days before I will be able to tell if it worked or not.
-
I have two arrows ready to send but then I had another thought. ??? So my arrows will go out later but before the deadline.
-
I received my arrow from Beadman today. I had to leave for a football game so I wasn't able to shoot it or get a picture of it.
-
Is that picture really you Eddie? If so, that's awesome. I think you should bring back the 'stash.
Yup best stash since Sam Elliott 😋
-
You guys crack me up. ;D
-
Good deal OO but I'm almost embarrassed about it seeing what mullet got....lol.That hazel does shoot right though and that counts for something I figure....lol.
-
I had a delivery of the good kind waiting on me when I got back from fishing this morning. It was from a fellow named Steve Bennett AKA turtle. I could not wait to open it, like a kid on Christmas morning and I was not disappointed. Thank you Steve for making such a nice arrow. A cane arrow ,two feather fletch, knapped tip, appears to be a bone nock, and pine pitched and wrapped with sinue . I know what arrow will be my first shot if the opportunity shows its brown swamp donkey face. sorry for the poor quality pictures my camera on my phone is messed up and that is the only camera I have, the arrow is outstanding quality.
.
-
Oh nice! I like that smaller 2 fletch.. definitely appreciating the pictures
-
What in the world is a swamp donkey? ???
-
Added more pics I hope they are better.
-
Bronco,
Turtle makes a good looking arrow....congrats.....
DBar
-
a swamp donkey is a south Georgia term for a deer, usually a doe but I am not particular since we have a large season and are allowed to shoot does in my area from the opening day of bow season till the end of rifle season. from Sept 10 till Jan 10th.
-
That's a new one by me. Talk about making venison sound less appealing. :P I imagine it doesn't have that effect once you get used to the term.
For a minute I though you might actually be hunting wild asses, not the spring break kind either.
-
that is just what happens when you put a bunch of rednecks together around a camp fire after hunting and the bs starts flowing along with the brews. Everything starts to take on a different meaning.
-
Glad it got there in one piece Mike. Meant to send a note with what the parts were made of but seems you got it pretty near right. The nock is whitetail antler and the foreshaft is vibernum. The point was gifted to me by Primitive Tim at the Tennessee clasic a couple years ago. Sure was fun to make it for you. I never have figured out why I enjoy making one for someone else but always wince at the thought of having to make myself a new set. Hope it flies true for ya.
-
I know the felling I enjoy making them for others more than for myself, but when they are completed I l ok very em all.
-
I finished mine and did a real quick test shoot in light drizzle. I only shoot it once but it was flew perfect and landed fight on the bullseye. I really like this one, hope my victim does too.
Bjrogg
-
You guys are putting out some fine looking arrows.
Mine will go out this week I have to finish knapping the point.
-
What in the world is a swamp donkey? ???
We call a old mature doe a swamp donkey here in Ky. There a great trophy to take from the woods.
-
What in the world is a swamp donkey? ???
In my area it's a way to describe a person with BO. For example: Billy Bob, you smell like a swamp donkey.
-
where i come from we would shoot Billy Bob for stinking like that and say we thought it was big foot.
-
Great looking arrow, Steve. Ya'll have to come north a few states if you want to see the true meaning of a swamp donkey :) Bring a friend, you will need help!
-
I know about them northern swamp donkeys, up to and over 300 lbs o. A nice one, a good one down here would be 180lbs.
-
Well guy's I've been busier than a cat in a sand box but I'm hoping to have some time next week to get a couple of arra's knocked out.
Those sure are some sweet looking sharp sticks!
Patrick
-
My arrow is fletched and point mounted so I'm getting close
-
I've got an arrow ready to go, just need to find time to get to the post office.
Tattoo Dave
-
I finally got a chance to shoot the arrow Beadman sent me. It flies straight and true. Here is a picture of it.

-
Good looking arrow you got their Clint. Never thought of a all white arrow but I do like the thoughts of it.
-
Got some arrows sent out in the mail today. Hope my recipient can make some meat with them!
G-Monee >:D
-
I'll make sure they go for a nature ride in the quiver if nothing else.
My guy was after a wall hanger, so I changed from a swiss army arrow to more of a show piece. I let my inner nerd out and made something out of a dungeons and dragons game. The cresting is drying at the moment. A couple days and it will be on it's way.
-
I got mine from Mullet on Saturday, I'll post some photos tonight. Mine is just about ready to get stuffed into a tube and sent off.
-
Mine is all finished unless i make a cover for the point should ship in a day or two
-
I got a sweet sourwood arrow from PD yesterday, very nice buddy. Can't wait to see how she flies. He was also kind enough to send me enough supplies to make 3 more! My wife saw the extras and said "he must have said forget it, you finish them"
-
They're Linux arrows, you have to compile them yourself, lol. (those of you with blank stares, trust me, the computer nerds are laughing so hard right now...)
-
They're Linux arrows, you have to compile them yourself, lol. (those of you with blank stares, trust me, the computer nerds are laughing so hard right now...)
Or shaking or nerdy heads. >:D
-
Very nice gift you got Aaron. Are the other 3 cane? Or bamboo?
-
I didn't know Pearly could make an arrow. I was expecting him to send one with a bar code on it ;D ;D ;D
-
I cant make a pretty one, but I can make a straight one! My wraps are ugly, but effective. :)
Those bonus shafts are boo, Gut.
-
It looks purty to me Pearl Drums. I put the last coat of sealer on last night composed a short letter hopefully get to post office today stuffs starting to get hectic around here.
Bjrogg
-
I snuck off to the post office it's in the pony express' hands now. They said 3 days Jason I've got a tracking number I'll pm you
Bjrogg
-
I didn't know Pearly could make an arrow. I was expecting him to send one with a bar code on it ;D ;D ;D
He sent all of those to me weeks ago.
-
Deadly/good looking arrow, Chris!
-
Thanks Mike, hopefully A-a-ron doesn't shoot it, hate to see him get hurt........ :)
-
Deadly on which end your saying Pearl? I wouldn't be a scared of shooting it. Looks user friendly to me.
Bjrogg
-
Its a good arrow, spines about perfectly for him. But lets me real? What good does one arrow do any of us? I wont hunt with it because I cant practice with it. So I add them to my beloved trinket collection to gaze upon.
-
Awsome brjog !
Mines done gonna try and get it mailed today
-
They're Linux arrows, you have to compile them yourself, lol. (those of you with blank stares, trust me, the computer nerds are laughing so hard right now...)

-
Mine are wrapped up and ready to go. Will probably go out Friday.
-
gentoo arrows?
ArrowFromScratch?
Sigh
Maybe next time I'll make some arrows...
-
Without arrows a bow is just a bent stick with a string. ;)
-
OK bub....Look forward to it.I'll surely post it.
-
Left for work this morning, also left the tube in the corner :o it will still be in the mail today or tomorrow
-
The tube has left the building

-
Got mine Roberto'. Trix & bones sent me a sweet boo arrow with an obsidian head. Two fletch style, thanks man!
-
mine went out in the 26th scheduled delivery was 9/1 ? went to post office and they traced it same as I did and said it has not delivered yet? NO DUH!!!!!!! It only shows that it left their facility to a sorting facility and no other activity? Hope it shows up if not I will make and send more.
-
Mine is finished and ready to go. I need to buy a pipe to ship it in. It will probably be Thursday of next week before I have a day off to get to the P.O.
-
Stopped by the mail box on my way back from town and lo and behold a tube sticking out of there.
A hill cane arrow with a stone point ready to go,and 2 extra hill cane shafts with 6 nice and stiff turkey primaries to boot from bubby. The finished arrow weighed 560 grains.Perfect!!!!!All I gotta do is put it in the right place now....lol.
Thanks Bub.

-
I went to an all guys high school. She went to the all girls high school. ;)
-
I want dbar to notice it's a self nock lol
-
Yeah bub I noticed the nock, looks good and I bet it shoots good too.
-
Pictures please!
-
I received 2 beauty arrows from the dancing bear, and I just finished up mine yesterday.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.
-
Dbar makes some beautys that fly like darts
-
Congrats beadman, nice arrow and spares to work on too! Bubby you done a fine job building it.
-
Finished up the arrow for Ed Brooks, will be in the mail soon.
Eric
-
So not only is it Sunday, but the Sunday of a holiday weekend. Never expected to see the postal truck in my driveway 10 minutes ago. Just got a couple sweet bamboo or river cane arrows in the mail. They're awesome Mike!! Thanks.
Tattoo Dave
-
Yeah bub I noticed the nock, looks good and I bet it shoots good too.
Heck Bill you kind of shamed me into not being so lazy with glue ons 😋
-
Well I decided to go completely primitive for my arrow. Made a bone point from a skull of a whitetail. It's the part right under the antler. It's not the best but it's also my first bone point.
Here it is glued on. Got to do some cleaning up but I'm proud of it.
Patrick

Once a Eagle Scout allways a Eagle Scout. Looks good Patrick like to see the pushing the comfort level
Bjrogg
Ps Jason I checked usps tracking said it left St. Louis 9-3 for its destination so I'm sure hoping you get yours soon
-
Thanks bj, I just got done tying on the Cherokee 2 fletch.
This whole arrow is out of my comfort level. I've always wanted to make some like this. And I'm happy to offer send this to a friend. Even though it's not as pretty as everyone else's.
Patrick
-
Looks pretty sweet to me
-
Looks pretty darn good to me Patrick.
-
Bring it on Patrick,,,, it sounds pretty cool to me.......I love it.....:)
DBar
-
Tattoo Dave, I'm so glad they finally arrived, they were due a few days ago, but better late than never. Glad you like them. Post pictures if any draw blood. Mike
-
Bring it on Patrick,,,, it sounds pretty cool to me.......I love it.....:)
DBar
I'm glad you like it DBar. All I've got to do is to get the point a little sharper. Then get a tube to put it in and send it your way.
Patrick
-
Patrick, that point reminds me of a gar scale point. Nice work on it.
-
Thanks Clint! I've always liked that style. I'm working on some trade points just like that.
Patrick
-
Tattoo Dave, I'm so glad they finally arrived, they were due a few days ago, but better late than never. Glad you like them. Post pictures if any draw blood. Mike
Those shafts look impressive. Congrats!
-
Pat, that bone point is nice!
-
bubby & OO....Looks and feels like the hill cane will be plenty tough enough.Superb job done on that stick.Tapered nice end to end and should fly like a dart. Thanks again fellas. Now I'm supposed to shoot it into a hay bale to test it????
-
Ed shoot it at whatever you want, but if that stone point gets broke.......... I guess i can send you one more lol
-
bubby....Ha Ha Ha...I think I need to make a box filled with fine sand to shoot into really, but I'm sure since it's a shoot shaft tapered it'll fly like a dart. It's got everything for a good kill arrow that's needed.
I shot a doe once broadside right in the boiler[think it hit a rib] @ 10 yards with a stone tipped arrow once.Think Iowabo knapped it for me.Good point.I never did find that deer.I know it died somewhere.
-
Ed, I shoot mine at a black hole block target that is made for target or broad head points. It's a little hard on the target but my stone points don't seems to care, they look like they did before I shot them.
I've also shoot them at a couple layers of building foam insulation.
Bjrogg

Just walked in the door & there was a package laying on the table from Pat B when I opened it I thought Christmas came early there was 2 arrows & a quiver in the package. I'll get pics. up this week. Thanks Pat everything looks great.
-
Rob, Clint made the trade point on the hill cane arrow, I think. Glad the package got there OK.
-
Jason I sent you a PM yesterday. Tracking number said it was delivered to a front desk reception area hope that was your desk.
Bjrogg
PS it's in a tube with lime green tape on one end.
-
I received my arrows from warpath last week as I was out the door for a camping trip. They are some real beauties. They seem to insist on wanting to hunt with me, so I think I'll let them. I just have to match them to the bow they like first.
I have a bunch of pics to get posted tonight, but I should be able to get a few of the arrows up too. Stay tuned...
PS. I will be shipping tomorrow.
-
Dakota Kid warpath does make some nice arrows I have a good many arrows from him & they fly good also.
-
In case no one believes Rob, check these out... sexy arras

Hard to argue with that. Thanks again warpath. I'll do my best to get um bloody.
-
Mailed arrow out today for Ed Brooks. Sure hope they meet the high standards of all these beauts.
Eric
-
If you tried a little harder than if it was your arrow you were making and had fun putting in the extra effort, you did just fine.
I went a little fantasy sci-fi with mine. If it's not well received, I may be banished for being a D&D super dork.
-
@Dakota Kid , not joking, those are the best arrows I've seen in a long time! Amazing.
-
I was definitely pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. They almost look store bought.
Warpath knows how to put together a solid arrow. They look good too.
-
Please mark me down as shipped. Finally. Hope you like it Jeff.
-
The deadline is the 12th, correct?
I am planning to send mine out on Monday but I might get time to send it on Saturday.
Patrick
-
Very fine looking arrows from warpath there Dakota Kid.
-
Please mark me down as shipped. Finally. Hope you like it Jeff.
Looking forward to seeing it. I am almost done with a batch of a dozen arrows (should finish tonight) and then I can do the trade arrow(s).
-
Just got back from a nice vacation with the wife.. to find a tube :D ... wow ! Bjrogg this arrow is beautiful cant wait to get to hunt with it !
-
Wow, very nice!
-
Oh boy BJ, Beauty. Funny, we have almost the same cresting pattern. You'll see.
-
Jason I glad you like it. I'm glad it got there was getting a little nervous I maybe sent to wrong address, but I figured you where either busy or not home cause really didn't see any posts from you. It's yours to do whatever you wish with. I'd love to have next time I see picture of it that's it's bloody and venison on the ground but I totally understand if you don't want to hunt it.
JoJo I'm really excited to see what you send me, and if our markings are very similar that will suit me just fine. Man just a few more weeks till season. Happy Hunting to you all.
Bjrogg
-
Nice bjrogg....Dogwoods right????
-
I will be away from my computer until the 20th gone hunting ;D. I will get my arrow out in the mail today or tomorrow. Thank you Ed
-
Thanks Beadman, yes it is a red dogwood from my farm, a mahogany obsidian point I knapped from chunk I got at Marshall. Halvted with pine pitch, charcoal and a little wax, white tail sinew, wild turkey fletching hand cut, and hand painted my normal markings. It's a slightly heavier and wider point than I usally make but it looked right and shoot nice.
-
The weight is pefrect for me at 678.4 grains.. and i will def hunt with it i want to kill a deer with a stone point so bad ! .. it helt its edge very well through shipping thanks to the sweet little muskrat cover
-
I'm so glad to hear all of that Jason, I totally forgot about the muskrat tip protector. I really want you to get one with a stone point to good luck I sure hope it doesn't let you down.
Bjrogg
Ps that muskrat is not tanned just rawhide
-
Woe that's a nice arrow!
-
Well mine is all wrapped up and in the tube. Got a chance to throw it on a grain scale. Came to 497 grains. Not to bad for the 50# bow I was shooting it with!
Going to make a trip to the post office tomorrow!
Patrick
-
Sent mine out this morning Bubby. You should see it tuesday they said.

I like those, a well matched set I would say. The antler blunt is neat enough I may have to make myself one.
I was trying to find a leg bone that was the right diameter to slide over a shaft. I couldn't find one that didn't look over sized or was too small to fit. I don't now why I didn't think of using antler.
-
Nice looking arrows Aaaron
-
Those are some really nice hunting arrows there Patrick. I like that you included the blunt head in there Aaron, nice work.
Bjrogg
-
Thanks guys, I enjoy making arrows, especially for friends.
Dakota kid, take the blunt idea and run with it, that's what this place is all about, sharing ideas.
And I have to give credit to bowmo, I picked up the stone point from him at the classic this last spring. But, I want to say that he said this is an actual native American artifact that he found and revived life back into.
-
Cool arrows A-a-ron, nice work.
-
Those are some sweet arrows you made Aaron. I like that antler blunt too.
-
Plus 1 & 2 what Pearl and Gutshot said
Bjrogg

Those are some nice arrows.

Just sent mine off. Sorry I missed the deadline.

The Kid, can make a darn, nice arrow.
Thanks Mullet. The last few arrows/ and sets I've sent out have gotten high praise. I may list a few 6 arrow sets in my etsy store just to see how it goes. If I could spend more time making arrows and less time remodeling houses while still paying the bills, that would be fantastic.
Did you ever get a chance to take the one I sent you last year out fishing? I'm guessing that design would be perfect for bull frogs as well. It may even do a halfway decent job wing shooting small to medium birds. I'm working on my second year of trying to get a dove on the wing, using homemade bird wires. We'll have to see how it goes. Had a couple "almosts" so far. They seem to have a lot of drag, might try the fishy arrow on them instead.
-
I'll get this updated soon.
You guys are making some killer arrows.
-
I shipped my arrow yesterday, I haven't gotten the chance to photo my arrows from Danzn Bar yet, but I will shortly I promise :D
-
DK, no haven't had a chance to try it. I don't want to shoot it at a tough Gar or Gator and the water has been too high and dirty down here to bow fish. I'm sure it will stick some Tilapia, though.
-
Found a package this afternoon from Trapper Rob. Two sweet arrows ;D. I have to head off to work, so will get some pics tomorrow.
-
Mine will go out tomorrow. Sent a little extra for being so slow.
-
Here are the beautiful arrows sent to me by Clint (Osage Outlaw). I really like the graded dye on the tips. Is this tonkin bamboo, or some kind of native Cane? These are awesome arrows--although I haven't had the chance to shoot them yet.
I got my arrow shafts spined and straightened tonight. Sorry to be so slow. Work has been crazy. Can't wait to retire in 25 years. . .
-
Those are hill cane shafts. One is a little shorter than the other. It had a node on the tip that was causing problems with the point fitting right. I trimmed it down to get a better fit. I didn't have any broadheads to fit that size shaft so I had to go with field points.
-
Very nice arrows Clint. I like the fade job
-
Those are some nice arrows Jeff. Excellent craftsmanship Clint.
-
Oh yes those are some slick arrows Clint. Congrats Jeff
-
Just got a confirmation that DBar should have a arrow tube on his door step!

I received my arrow from Ed Brooks yesterday. Thank you sir fine arrow you made.

Thanks DBar, it was fun to make. But as usual the maker knows what he would do differently next time.
Can't wait for the pics! I wanted to post some the other day but I wanted something to be a surprise for you.

As you can see i just got a really cool arrow from tattoo dave, boo or cane with a interesting point, looks like a thorn? And a great paint job thanks Dave very cool arrow(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/Mobile%20Uploads/20160915_160853_HDR_zps0nwov5ue.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160915_160853_HDR_zps0nwov5ue.jpg.html)

Patrick,
Got dark outside on me to take pictures, and I want to take some outside.....I'll get them tomorrow for sure.
Bubby, that's a Honey Locust thorn..
Cool point and arrow Dave
DBar
-
Thanks guys. Since it's likely a display point you said, I thought I'd make something a little different.
It's bamboo, with mallard duck wing feathers. I always thought those would make some good points for bow fishing. Haven't tried them yet though, never been bow fishing.
Tattoo Dave
-
No problem Bill, I'm not worried at all.
Man everyone made some sweet looking arrows!
Patrick

Wow! That's too cool tattoo Dave

-
Great looking arrows guys.
-
Hey Dave,
You didn't reveal what the point was actually made from. I would wager a B Locust or H Locust thorn. I'm leaning toward Honey Locust. I saw something similar in the TBB2. They referred to it as a child arrow or a quickie. I would imagine with the ornately decorated one you made it was hardly quick though. It looks kinda mean. I like it.
-
Man there are some nice arrows being displayed here. Keep the pics coming.
-
It sure looks like a honey locust thorn to me.
-
I would bet honey locust as well
-
Here are the arrows I got from Trapper Rob. Cane arrows with self nocks. First one has small two fletch and target point. Second has large two fletch and what appears to be a gar scale point. Last pic is of both along with two other arrows and a quiver I received fro Trapper Rob a few years ago in christmas trade.

Thanks guy's, lots of firsts in that arrow for me. The shaft is wild rose. I sure am glad you like it DBar!

Gutshot you are more than welcome. The big one is buffalo bone and the small one is a gar scale. I hope you enjoy them as mush as I like making arrows. I am also glad I got to send you your first trade arrows.

I went to look at the small one I can tell it's a scale now. Hadn't ever seen one peeled off of a gar. Next one I get bow fishing I will for sure to get several of them.
-
Nice arrow Patrick. Any arrow shafts in that viburnum, Bill.
Good eye Pat!! heck yea I've got about three dozen drying of all different diameters to see what size produces about a 50# spine. Will be the first time I've worked with it. Found out I need to let it dry with bark on or it checks bad at each branch....any tips are welcome.
DBar
-
Yeah, viburnum checks easily if stripped too soon.
-
I think I put a lil shape on that gar scale.
-
OK I just went through all the pages if I didn't miss anybody there's 2 people that need to ship yet & 6 that need to receive. If you all will check page 8 & if I missed anybody leave me know.
-
The finishing touches are going on mine today and tomorrow. I went and used oil paint for the cresting, and it took a bit to dry before I can fletch.
-
Thanks for doing all of the organizing Trapper Rob.Many fine arrows exchanged here lately.
-
Yes, thank you Trapper Rob
-
i too would like to thank you Trapper Rob. great trade . nice and easy.

Thanks OO, I really appreciate it.
These pics are of the 2 arrows I received from Cabinetbowguy. The arrow are much nicer in person, and I can say absolutely, that they fly just fine.
The pics are mixed up a little - - One arrow is a tapered (toward the nock only) hickory shaft, with that typical war arrow head (whats that called? drawing a blank - got it - bodkin), tied on turkey feathers and nice little (4 color) cresting going on. Also the nock is reinforced by what looks like horn.
The other arrow shaft is the thinnest cane shaft I have ever shot. I was worried it would not hold up, but it did. Carved bone head and two fletch with goose feathers. I love the shape of these feathers. Dont know if you can see it, but these feathers are also tied on with very fine thread of some kind - and lots of glue - no issue with feather movement other than due to the fragility of the set up. Both arrows are first class jobs.
I hope my guy is as pleased with what I sent to him as I am with what I got. Since they have been shot a few times, they can now take a place of honor with my other show piece arrows.
Thank you cabinetbowguy!!!!! When you are ready, you can send over the rest of the dozen . . . .
Russ
-
More pics guys!
-
Thanks ! Russ ! ! The main arrow was hickory, and yep its horn. The small bamboo arrow is very similar to what i make for my wifes 35 lb trilam well without the bone head :) i had extra time so i figured i would throw in a second arrow . Glad they shoot good for you
-
Really like the look of those arrows Cabnetbowguy. Nice work they look like great shooters.
Bjrogg
PS I'm still waiting for mine was contacted, arrows are done should be seeing them soon.
-
Recieved my arrow from WizardGoat. What an incredible peice. I will post pic this evening. All these arrow have been works of art. Good job everyone, and thank you Trapper Rob for setting this up.
Eric
-
Thanks bjrogg !! I love the one you sent me
-
Here are some photos of the arrow from WizardGoat. The only camera I have is on my phone, so these photos don't do the arrow justice, but it is a work of art that will be going on the wall. Thanks WizardGoat
Eric
-
Goat makes nice stuff. Mine are packed and headed for Michigan tomorrow.
-
Real nice arrow. Looks totally primitive nice work Wizardgoat, that will look nice on your wall DD
Bjrogg
-
Great work Ryan, tell us more about it.
-
Wizardgoat does make a nice arrow I got one last year.
-
Happy you like it high desert. It's sourwood shoot shaft from Pappy, I'm not sure on what kind of stone it is, from Sasquatch. Sinew and pine pitch, the feathers are peacock I forget who I got them from, TimothyR I believe, and it's the first time I used snakeskin under the entire fletchings like that.
I'm sorry, I still haven't posted the arrows I got from Danznbar, I'll post them when I get back from canping
-
You'd better get a move on. Two hours for the ferry, two hours up Island, it'll be suppertime before you get here ;D ;D
-
Mark me down as finally shipped. Second day air--should be there by Saturday.
Jeff
-
I've got that everybody has shipped & 4 people need to receive yet.
-
Received mine on Wednesday from RBLusthaus. Thank You! This will be going in my quiver of trade arrows.
G-Monee >:D
-
Pics everyone, pics!
-
Your are welcome G.
If you intend to shoot them, you may wish to trim the yellow feathers a bit - - but you knew that already.
Russ
-
I got a very nice arrow from High-Desert, it is in with my other trade arrows. Thank you very much for the arrow, Thank you Trapper for doing the trade. Ed
-
I received my arrow from Ed Brooks yesterday. Thank you sir fine arrow you made.
Scottski, I'm glad it made it to you in one piece.
This is not the original point, as the tip got broken off, I didn't have it packed and had my wife take it to check pricing for shipping :(. it was from the same rock tho, the thing I really liked about the point, you can't see it in the pic but it has a neat sheen to it when turned in the light. This is a plane arrow, OS shaft, Obsidian head mounted with fir pitch glue, wild turkey feathers and all wrapped with either black tail or elk not really sure what I used. Ed
-
Wow! Sweet looking arrows!
Everyone done an awesome job with their arrows!
Thanks a ton Rob for running a great trade!
Patrick
-
Bunch of nice looking arrows being posted......thanks for putting it together Rob...
DBar

Great Arrows Folks! This is always one of my favorite trades. Glad to be back on PA after an extended hiatus. dp
-
I just got home and my wife handed me a shipping tube. Opened it up and inside was an arrow from JoJo. and 4 shafts. I'll try to get some pictures up when I get by Wi-Fi. Thanks JoJo. This is my 1st trade arrow.
Bjrogg
-
I'm glad it (they) made it. Sorry for the delay.
-
Got my trade arrows from jeffp51 yesterday. The pics dont do em justice. 2 beautiful dogwood arrows, a real cool patterned turkey fletchings. One is tipped with a rainbow obsidian point and the other has a brass field point. Very tempted to shoot em, but not gonna do it. No doubt they fly great and would dispatch a whitetail with no problem. Thanx again Jeff, and thanx again to Trapper Rob .
-
I sent that field point so you would have one arrow you felt like you could shoot, and one to save (the obsidian arrow) to save for your collection, or in case of emergency in the zombie apocalypse. Go ahead and shoot it. If it breaks, I will send you another. Arrows want to fly.
-
very nice looking arrows Jeff....sounds like stixs really like them..
DBar

Here some pictures of arrow JoJo sent me hope you enjoy them.

-
I somehow missed this entire arrow trade. Looked through all the pics and you guys are making some dandy arrows. Keep those pictures coming.
-
Send them to me Rob.
Photobucket is frustrating sometimes. Put the mouse curser on the bottom right of the pic and a box will pop up. Click on "share". A big window will open...click "IMG" . When it turns yellow and says "Copied" just paste it on the page you are posting on
-
I'll give it a try again tonight.
-
I'm posting these pictures for Trapper Rob. I'll let him fill you in on the details.

The first pic is the quiver & arrows that Pat B sent me the top one is sourwood & the bottom one is hill cane with a trade point.
The second pic has an arrow in it from osage outlaw it's the top one in that pic.
Thanks for the great arrows Pat & Clint.
Pat that quiver will be heading to camp with me Fri. morning.
-
Rob, the quiver needs a little smear of blood on it to break it in. ;)
Good luck this weekend.
