Buck by Aunt Jamima
« on: December 15, 2008, 06:03:56 am »
I killed a Spike Sat. morning,it was about an 8 yard shot.I took it with My Osage take down I posted a few months back,This is that bows 3rd.Another cool part was I used a cain arrow Sawfiler gave me a couple of weeks ago when he was down hunting with me.It also was tiped with a head he napped
out of the bottom of and Aunt Jamima bottle. It lodged in an off rib and the head came out un scaved. The cain was broke. The shot took out the liver and left lung and the deer ran about 150
yards,if that.104 lbs and a monster rack,O I mean back staps. :)

That deer ran by me after Pappy shot it and the arrow was sticking straight out 90 degrees from its body. The cane arrow took a lot of abuse before it finally broke. I could hear it tinging off of trees as the buck ran by them. Because the head was lodged in a rib on the opposite side, the arrow was rigid sticking out and finally a running 104 lb buck and a solid tree resulted in a broken cane arrow. That was a very enjoyable and memorable morning, made extra special by the primitive equipment used. :)

Congratulations again Pappy! I think you get two assists for that one Greg; steering him to Pappy by way of cane arrow and finally visual tracking of soon to be dinner. ;D

I'm just trying to pay him back Tracy, a couple of my deer this year came while sitting in Pappy's stands!  ;)

Mmmmmm-backstraps and buttermilk pancakes. :) That's awesome, Pappy-I bet that's the first deer in recorded history that was ever killed with an Aunt Jemima bottle. You need to send Tred Barta a pic of that one and ask him if he still thinks he's "hunting the hard way". ;D
