Timo, I don't know what the material is but you're probably right....I picked it up from the knapping pit at the Classic. :)

Not sure if this is correct but here is my attempt at it.  The point is a little thick and wieghs about 200 grains.

Nice point Nugget.

I can't believe how much material was in that pile that far exceeded anything that I find locally. I've got a few pieces that I'm working with now.

Here's my effort stone is unknown a spall I threw in my bucket at the Classic. It needs a little more work as it has a curl in the tip,
but overall not bad for a beginner eh :) Its 1.25" wide and just under 2.5" long and weighs in at 156 grains.

Well I finally made time to try another point tonight. I'm kinda proud of this one. I call it the first "real" point I've made.  "Real" meaning it's the first one that I've made from a spall and used some percussion to thin.  The other half dozen or so flint points I've made were just pressure flaked from  thin flakes. I almost made a couple others tonight also. (emphisis on almost)  Just as I would get 'em thin enought to start pressure flaking, I'd break 'em. >:(

  Anyhow, it's 2-7/16" long and 15/16" wide and weighs 131 grains.  I don't know what the material is. It's something Jesse threw in my box at the Classic.  It's blacker than the picture shows and only passes light on the very edges.   
 I'm happy with it, whatever it is. ;D
