Darwin came by just after lunch today.
After talking about the Primitive Arts and Checking out gear and bows for a little while we got to work.
We had a great afternoon Chasing Rings on Osage Staves and shooting the breeze. :)

I enjoyed meeting you Darwin.
You are welcome any time.
Judging by your Hickory/Ipe/Hickory Tri-Lam Longbow and your Garden Stake Bamboo arrows, you do Good work.

Sorry we missed you badcolsonbad and driftwood.
Hope y'all can make it next time.

:)

I missed it. A birthday came up that I forgot. This day has been bad like that. On the bright side, I found some intriguing wood. Its bright white, and when I put my hawk into it it smelled of ginger. Could this be sassafras ? If I can get all of it, could I bring it over to you for inspection ? It does have a bit of wobble, but its pretty straight compared to some of the stuff I have seen you guys make bows out of.

I feel pretty rotten about it. Rude of me to not call.

No Worries bcb,

Sorry we missed you.
Hopefully we'll see you for the next Primitive Get Together.
I'd be up for another one after the 4th of July.
Have to Hammer Down on my trade bow and another project or two till then.  :)

I had a feeling that I've been missing out on things. I was hoping to get on here regularly enough to catch some kind of get together to see some others in action. This college class/working "stuff" has dominated my life and I haven't even had much time to continue on the last board I started. Just wanted to mention that I'm going to try my best and pay better attention for any upcoming dates.

Where in Houston are you located?

Not sure if this was meant towards me or someone else, but up towards the Magnolia area near the back side of The Woodlands

My daughter lives in Houston. If I ever get down there again I'll have to send out a heads up and maybe get to meet a few of you guys.  8)  I was there once before when she first moved there.

Yes Sir Pat!

That would be Awesome!
We'd have to fire off the smoker, make some Flakes and Shavings, and smoke a Cigar or two.
Maybe even hoist a shot of Primo Aged Tequila or two after all work had stopped...  ;D
