Good day
« on: October 06, 2010, 09:52:08 pm »
My buddy Steve got this 7 ptr this morning with his homemade bow.  I had to settle for a squirrel.  I'm off for 3 days camping alone and hunting tomorrow.

Meat in the pot is meat in the pot.  Just not as much as what is in your buddy's pot...... ;D  Good luck on your three days excursion. ;)

I'm sure your buddy will share the contents of his pot with you when you finish up that squirrel!  ;) Congrats to both of you!

Hey Pappy, Steve had his story on another site and I think he said it was Osage but I cant remember what else.

Now that I'm not sure of, I think it was made by a friend but I don't know all details for sure. I just remember Osage and then something else was on the handle.

Pappy - I didn't call it a "selfbow"  for a reason  ;)  It's a homemade bow.  His good friend cut a Virginia osage and I think Virginia cherry and made it.  It was his first bow ever and Steve shoots it well.  I just got back from three days in the woods.  I'll post pics and story later.

Thanks fellas. We've had a great time hunting up here.  Leaves are beginning to change and the rut is only about 4 weeks out.
