Dear Dad:  I will give you a hint as to the mountain range!  Start looking south of Yellowstone.  When you come looking just be sure to bring your lovely wife!  We will be hiding just past all those buffalo in the front pasture!  A/Ho Udo  Indian Joe

Mike:  This pine tree was given to me at the Classic by Shannon.  I call it "A River Runs Through It"!  The light is casting a shadow over the mountains that I can see from my porch!  Shannon doesn't know it, but I am adopting him and his family!  A/Ho Joe

Mike:  This is a blown up photo of a point Jesse blessed me with at the Classic.  It has full length flutes on both sides.  Am considering keeping it in my gun safe!  Am hoping Jesse will start going around to the universities and teaching his knapping skills.  He is deploying to Afghanistan in a month or so and I pray for a safe tour of duty.  A/Ho Joe

You can't adopt me Joe...I already adopted you!
I consider it an honor just to know you and always leave from seeing you with a different outlook on life.
One day we'll fish in that river and my son will dip his toes in it too ;)

Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

Great thread and awesome points. Just blessed that we get to hang out with you guys. Cannot imagine trying to learn all this on our own and not having access to good rock. Mason and I are heading to Compton in June and will spend some time knapping in Yankee Land.

What books do Mason and I need to help us along with knapping ?

Wished we could attend more knapp ins but with gas like it is it will be all we can do to make Compton. That is a 1200 mile round trip for us.

Preciate the scrap flake offer ! We need that for sure cause so far all I have been trying to learn is percussion. Bout time for Mason to teach me some Ishi stick and small flaker work. If you will, pick a USPS flat rate box that will fit what scraps ya got and I will send you the postage back ASAP. It was nice meeting ya'll too, wished we could have stayed the whole weekend to spend more time with everyone in the knapping pit.

Here is our addy......
