Here is one I made awhile ago, I kept this one to try out for my personal skinning knife. Beaver season comes in day after Christmas and I plan on using this knife on the first beaver of the season. 5" Dacite blade, osage handle and deer rawhide lace wetted and shrunk then sealed with some spray Poly. Thanks for lookin, Bob

nice knife Bob! i like the shape
beaver are a pain to skin, at least for me hah.
I think hafted knifes for primitive man were mostly carried as weapons. It was their claw, their tooth. Flakes and small spalls were mostly what would have been used to skin, cut, carve ext.. This is just my thoughts  ;)

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

That is a real beauty, Jesse.  That combination is outstanding.  Cool to see a dagger like design, also.
Glad your back. :)

Thank you.
Knapping skills are defiantly rusty, I also think a dagger shaped blade would have looked better with that osage handle.
I got one im working on now that im very pleased with so far and i've not even knapped the blade yet. Maybe a really nice handle will modivate me to take my time on the blade.
Weather forecast is calling for light and variable winds with wide spread haze this weekend so the ocean is calling me :)
