Dana, I think that is why he is hiding the hind quarters.  He got hungry from climbing tree stands and had to eat the hind quarter to get up his strength to get back.  ;D

Thanks Chad, it's actually one of Pappy's sister bows...I had forgotten my bow at home when I carried the deer to put in the cooler at the club. The bow I used was made by Mike Concle, and looks a lot like the bow in the picture...snakey and prairie rattler skins.

Unfortunately Justin, I'm able to fall back on my emergency fat reserves when I need extra energy.  ;) I didn't find the deer until the next day, and I would expect it to be a opposum ate around one eye and the mouth...left the hindquarters alone thankfully.
