Utah guide, ouch
« on: January 11, 2008, 04:31:04 pm »
Check out these pictures of Jeremy Chamberlain. He was guiding a bowhunter in Southern Utah this fall on an elk hunt. Jeremy was situated about 10 feet in front of the hunter and cow-called in a bull.
As Jeremy turned his head back to give the hunter the yardage for the shot, the hunter had already pulled back his bow and let his arrow  fly, not realizing that his arrow was right in line to hit Jeremy. The muzzy 100 grain fixed-blade broadhead sliced Jeremy's forhead wide open (as you will see in the pictures)!!!! I guess it could have been
worse....but not much!!!

No Utah doen't require bow hunter safety. Hunter safety is required for all hunting, big game and small game, but nothing special for bowhunters.  You would think a guide would know better. They get hired by idiots all the time.  Justin

Youch!! Their are some real characters out there, some of em don't even suspect what might happen. Kinda hard to develope any common sense when you can't seem to get off the sofa...
When you come upon a track or trail you do not know, follow it to the point of knowing.
