BIO calling it done

60" bbi r/d thing I got glued. Wondering how bad this part of the glue line is.

I very rarely makes backed bows because my glue lines are terrible. I usually put super glue in any voids in the glue line.
 What glue did you use? I have don this with TB glue or Urac.

I'm having a hard time seeing those glue lines with images that small. But sometimes the glue line are better than they appear. It is indeed important to know what glue you used. But sometimes you just have to reduce the width by 1/16" to get rid of those bad areas. It may just be near the edge of the lams.

That is some funky colored Ipe. Is it narrowed down to finish size yet?

It's 1 1/8". It was tb3 glue. It isn't finished sanded to dimensions. Planned on 1" or so. 60" long. The dust on the ipe is green.

I planned on packing dust and glue in voids if they're still apparent once to finished dimentions. I plan on narrowing the tips more as well

If they are still visible when its finished width, I would fill them with good CA glue and skip the dust.

Probably too wide at that short length. My 69" ntn HBI is 1" wide.

More importantly is how thick is the boo, or how thin is the ipe. You don't want that boo crushing your ipe. The more narrow you go the deeper the ipe will have to be, that's good. I cant give hard numbers, start tillering it and watch it change. If your bow is still heavy and the belly is getting too thin, tiller the width down rather.

I think 1" wide is fine. Just remember you probably won't make it to 28". I think 26" is more realistic.

Where is the bad area located? How far from the tip or handle? Also, is it on both sides of the limb, or only on one edge?

The ipe is 3/8" and the boo is 1/8" in center to 1/16" on tips. U don't think I can get 28" outta it? 60" bendy handle? The bad spot is about 8" from center.

Get her narrowed down and down to bracing it,then see how she looks...if still some holes n gaps sand it in the areas,but dont blow the dust out and shoot some super glue in there....I think 28" out of it is totally feasible IMO

Thanks guys. FINALLY got what I need to finish this d2 knife. Had to get my hands on another carbide bit. Broke about 150$ worth off drill bits on this knife. Once I finish that I'll be on to this. I have to get more belts for my sander as well.
