How far do I scrape the boo to get the rine off? I scrapped it some. It should be the woody part? Not the waxy feeling stuff?

You will know bruiser. Its creamy and generally even colored while the rind can be blotchy looking. And it generally has a bit of shine to it.

another option is leaving the rind on. some scotch bright and steel wool cleans it up nicely and gives it a natural look.
but if you scrape the rind off, when you sand it out take it outside and look at your back under natural light and make sure all your scrapper dents/marks are gone.

Boo without the rind won't take a stain or a dye very well.

Well I ended up grinding the belly down and adding some yeller wood. I'm pretty sure it's bending in the handle a little much. It's 50@28". I'm not sure how bad my tiller is so I'm in decided about what to do. I shot it a few times. When I glued the osage on I apparently added more deflex. What y'all think?

I think your lucky you don't have a black eye Bruiser! Those mid limbs need to bend a lot more. It looks like a sever RD, but it isn't. Its almost flat with long flipped tips.

The r/d profile isn't something I've tillered before. So I did what I thought. It's all a sort of experiment n e whoo. It has a lot more deflex than it did. I forgot a pick of the profile. I'll try and grab one.

I looked back at your original pics to see the profile. Get the center 8-9" bending enough to match the inners. Gonna take at least 5-8# to make it right'er.

I got the tips coming around. It's getting kinda scary. :embarassed:the smallest tips on a bow yet for me. I think it needs a little more but I think it's better.

Also the top fade area has more deflex. That's what it looks to be bending more. U can sorta see it in the glue up pic.

So it's done. I like it. So fun to shoot. 38#@28". Nice comfortable target bow. Boy it's fast for its weight. What y'all think? Still gotta gussy it up.
