Got to finish up the last details but wont be able to ship until after Christmas. It will be within the 15 Jan deadline though.

The last sheath i wove, i ended up whittling out a blank a bit smaller than the sheath, and holding everything in place with rubber bands while i was weaving.  Quite tedious for my fat fingers.

Got my shipping box half built today...fully intended to get it out today so I could open my gift tonite.  But then a friend called, she had slipped and fallen.  She struck her head and was bleeding badly.  Got her to the hospital and fixed up with a butterfly bandage (you know head wounds, bleed like mad), and spent part of the day looking for her dog that had ran off when she fell.

Found the dog, she's ok, and I'm at work wishing customers a Merry Christmas. Will Ship on Friday...if the post office doesn't burn down!

This will be heading out friday.  I hope my victim likes it.  Three wood spirits, with a basket weave pattern filling in between them.

Here is the top. it has a wooden ball in it that rattles when it is moved.

This is the top and middle faces with the hair and beard intertwined.

The lower face is a mountain man, with a textured fur.

Here is the basket weave pattern I carved in it.  It looks much better than leaving it blank.

The sycamore took the stain a bit darker than I like, but over all it turned out pretty good.  I will ship it on Friday.

Alright so now I have messed up 2 bows. Looks like my guy won't get a finished bow but luckily I had a really nice Black Locust stave set aside just in case. Everything is packed up and ready to ship on Monday.  The USPS will have 2 packages heading East on Monday.

Horrible feeling, ain't it?  But just one question, what happened to the Black Locust stave...I mean, you said you are shipping two packages!   >:D

It is a horrible feeling JW.  It happens when I am in a hurry.  Speed kills in bow making. I do have two packages ready. A BL stave in one and the other is packed with arrows and some other useful items.

I have had many things keeping me busy this fall and winter. I am afraid my guy is getting raw materials for his box, despite all my fun plans for things to make. Hopefully he will like what he gets. Sending some steel for knife stock including files and bar stock of 5160, gonna send a few bits of wood for shingles, a billet of cable damascus, as well as some opals and turquoise for inlays or sheaths, etc.. hope he likes it all and isnt too upset with raw materials.
