I've been making a lot of primitive fire lately using the hand drill. My son just turned three and is shadowing me. Thought I'd share a picture. I love it!

That just gave me one heck of a grin!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

That boy makes me grin everyday, JW!!

Just do it everyday like I do, Bill... Lol. Your hands will get used to it then. It's only two weeks of pain.

Jon, that sure looks familar, and thanks for not showing any pics of old fire builders.  ;D had a good time shootin with you and Bill and all the fire building was just frosting on the cake. I got one yesterday with your white pine and horseweed. Thanks Jon.  Bob

I had a great time also, Bob. I learn more every time I'm around you! I enjoyed watching you knap that point. Wish I could have gave it a try but my son would have been right in there. One of these days I'll get a good lesson from ya. Hope to see you down my place hunting in a few weeks. Sure was fun making fire. That horseweed is a great combo on that pine.... But I think the mugwort is a tad better. Seems like I get a bigger coal. Speaking of fire.... You were on fire with that bow!!!

Now that's cool!  Looking at that pic, I would say it's safe say that the Apple didn't fall far from the tree.  Looks just like ya!  Josh
