Bill, we'll find a place to you to lay your head.  Plan on 2 days :)

Clint, is the thin ring osage something I could de-crown for a bamboo backed bow?

I don't know Dave.  I've never decrowned a stave.

I've de-crowned 2 bows and laminated a hickory strip to them.  Basically, they need to pretty darn clean, no knots or crazy twists.  If you have the room bring them.  If they don't work, like you said we can burn them.

Just got through reading all the posts and it sounds like a twisted episode of "American Horror Story". Never heard of so many dead animal parts being transported to one area.  I will bring a few candles and some red paint to fit in.

Count me in Dave :)

Yep me too,
Hey GMC,
Got me one of those electric draw knives and knocked out seven 3yr old staves with bark on them down to heart wood in about an hour.  Took me a while to get the hang of it. I will use it every time to remove bark and sapwood.  It's a must to do it outside.  ;) :) Thanks for the idea GMC... :)

You are very much welcome, Bill.

You use that thing enough you'll get really good with it, so good you'll be chasing rings with it.

Can't wait to see everybody again.

Bill, an electric draw nice is the bomb, especial on nice straight, clean stave.  I'm not as good as GMC at chasing a ring with one but I can still get to the heart wood using one.

I finished the first fleshing beam today.  This one will be up for trade.  I need the make the one I keep with treated wood, because it will have to live outside. I think these are going to be awesome fleshing beams.

Can one of you guys bring your electric draw knife?  I didn't get to see it in action last year.  I would like to see how it compares to my chainsaw angle grinder.

The curls from an electric draw knife, especially from osage, makes good fire starters.  :)

I got the second fleshing beam finished today.  I'll get the drying racks made next week and we should be in business.  I'm making them as two: 8 x 8 foot squares, joined at the top with a bolt through hinge to create an A-frame.  That way a people can work on each side.  It should, also, make it handy for smoking the hides.  We'll see how that works out.

If this weather doesn't break soon we won't be doing any hide tanning.  Might have to invest in some show shoes to make it around the 3D course.
