If this weather doesn't break soon we won't be doing any hide tanning.  Might have to invest in some show shoes to make it around the 3D course.

Or cross country skis! With this polar vortex moving In , I might make it to school Monday if the next round doesn't produce the heavy snow. My wife's dog got a mole today??? I'll bring it to tan as soon as it thaws ;D

Doesn't look like Marshall is going to work for me this year since were adding snow days to the end of the school year now :(

Keep looking out to see Ozzy screaming by on the Polaris but haven't seen him yet :D

I took Schuy to the chiropractor this afternoon. My driveway was hell. Going out the driveway I got stopped in the Tocamo twice going down hill. When we got back home it took 20 minutes to get from the road to the house.  I'd hit snow drifts half way up the headlights, which would stall out the truck.  Silly me didn't bring a shovel.  So, I was in front of the truck throwing arm loads of snow out of the way.  After doing that twice already, when I stalled on the third drift, I backed up about 20 feet and headed into the field where the snow wasn't as deep.

It was the wildest ride Schuy had ever had in a truck.  She was a good co-pilot.  I asked her strongly when we got to the driveway to be quiet and let me drive.  She did very well, only pointing out that there was smoke inside the truck as we were approaching the last hill to the house.  The smoke smell was the from the tires and maybe clutch.

I was supposed to be at work at 5PM.  I called in.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I have a hard time making it up your driveway in good weather conditions Dave.  I can't imagine how hard it would be now.

Has anyone talked to Derik recently?  Is he going to be able to make it this year?

I'm helping Greg with getting shirts made up for the gathering and this is what I have so far for sizes:

GregS    Xl

Dave    Xl

Daniel    Xl

Balsatech   Xl

Gutshot   Xl

Joe     Xl

Brian   Xl

Clint   2Xl

Ozzy  2Xl

Tracy  2Xl

GMC   L

Still need sizes for anyone else that I missed or is planning on making it. You can PM me or post here and I will add it to the list. Dave, I sent you my email for the pic. Anyone have input on shirt color or other ideas? Seems like green is a possibility.

Does anyone need any supplies or trade goods?    I'm looking for old draw knives and hatchets/axe heads.  I've been collecting them lately.

Tracy, I reorganized my shop and found something knapping related that I missed when I rounded everything up last year.  I'll bring it to you.  If the foot of snow melts from on top of them I'll bust up one of those big grinding wheels for you.

Are you wanting older axe bits? I think I have a couple laying around that need handles that are 20-30 years old. My wife has been stopping at antique shops and auctions and will keep an eye out for this stuff. Draw knives I've seen have been pretty steep.

Tracy, I have been more into hatchets or small single bit axe heads.  Making a new handle won't be a problem.  I just made one for a mini hatchet.  I'll be posting it soon with some other projects.

I could use some rocks to pound into smaller rocks. I have some secondary turkey feathers and quiet a bit of primary feathers. I think my feather cutter is 5" or maybe 5 1/2 so I could cut them.  I'm sure I could come up with other stuff also.

If,the weather cooperates, I'm going to try and make a rock run the weekend before Moontree. Hopefully the snow will be gone so I can find it in my spot and in the pit.
