Well I done a little prop work tonight. Got one limb formed and heat treated last night. Hope to have it braced by The weekend! Patrick

Caught a couple carp yesterday and the skins went on this morning. Now for the wait for it to dry. Then to finish shooting it in and pretty it up while working on plan B.

Gotta restart the skins tomorrow evening. I had the bow in my room to dry since it has been raining at some point almost every day for the last several weeks. And my moms dog found a new chew toy. Luckily she didn't get ahold of it much and just chewed on the fringes of the skin and pulled it loose in spots. I'm glad the TB3 wasn't dry yet and I was able to pull the skins off and clean them to reuse. Oh well, part of not having a work shop and pets in the house.

Mo_coon-catcher, did you have to degrease those skins before application and if so how did you do it?

I washed them in dawn a couple times after fleshing them clean. Then I wiped the back of the bow down a couple times with rubbing alcohol to help it stick. Right now they are soaking in water to get as much of the glue off as I can before I put them back on. To gt them as flat as I can I wrapped them with a bike inner tube to squeeze them down then after a coule minutes unwrapped it so I couple get the creases caused by the wrap out before it dried on. I've done it without the wrap and there are no wrap lines but it doesn't have as form fitted of look, so I tried one with a wrap and let it dry but it had those wrap lines so now I'm trying a wrap to get it form fitted then unwrapping it to let the lines come out. It looked good until the dog got ahold of it. When I get the skins back on I'm debating if I want to due the entire handle wrap in beaver tail or just the arrow pass area and the rest with deer hise. I'm thinking the second.
