Threw a braced and unbraced pic up. Yeah, the dark brown streak is the lower. It's in the very top of the fade, the thickest part, I'm not too worried about that.  The knot in the top limb was the only imperfection  in the working limbs, but its long since gone, leaving  that grain swirl.

They've been especially fast and reliable shooters for as long as I've been making them. The levers can be extremely light, like any narrow tips, except offering more leverage and a sharper transition from working wood to lever. I've drawn them a full four inches past the half-the-working-limb rule without chrysalis or stacking and a thirty pounder I made in Nevada far surpassed their hunting limitations. It's also very easy to make 1/4" or less nocks at the ends of those levers.

They're also a little different from what most people have seen ;D

Bubbles, I like the bow! But there is something about the tiller on the upper limb. I can quite put my finger on it. It looks like the upper limb is stiffer than the bottom. I see it in your braced and unbraced pic as well. I could be wrong but from your unbraced pics it looks like the bottom limb has taken more set than the top. I'm not saying that there is a real problem just that something looks off to me.
Is your bow asymmetrical by chance? Patrick

50# @28 Pat.  Leb- it is asymmetrical. Bottom limb is 1" shorter. I've just been having better luck with those layouts. I find, for whatever reason I get less handshock. And this one is shooting pretty good.  I'm thinking the top limb needs to bend a little more though. They're pretty much even at full draw, but I want the top a smidge stiffer.

 Looks like you're also gripping it a tad low and accentuating the upper/ lower limb difference. Flipping your full draw picture vertically it looks like it could use a bit more bend mid-limb on the upper.

So I got the first half of my takedown glued up. Again the billets weren't gonna work. I got into some serious checking. As they were never sealed when the guy cut em like 15 yrs ago and they sat in his barn. So ipe and hickory. We'll see how it goes.

I'm tapped out on trading ATM, thanks sleek. I've got a ton of Osage, just ain't dry yet. It'll be a year next month.

Whos trading? Trading is not hooking someone up. I have a 6 year old stash and some staves that need more heat correction sideways than I want. So im gonna cut billets. Just cover shipping, if you want...

You can rought a bow out of the sage to floor tiller and it will dry fast and the heat gun helps also when your putting some reflex in.
